Aventail has appointed Stephen Smith vice president of finance and administration. Smith will be responsible for all finance, human resources, legal and IT facets of Aventail's business. He most recently was with Network Commerce and has held previous executive positions with AAA Washington, Pizza Blends, Horizon Air and asterion.com. Seattle-based Aventail provides SSL VPN and extranet appliances and services for secure access to enterprise applications.
