The Washington Technology Center recently awarded $668,000 to projects teaming six Washington companies with university researchers through its Research and Technology Development program. Receiving funding are Survival, Inc. of Seattle; Sterling International of Spokane; VizX Labs of Seattle; InnovaTek of Richland; and Intelligent Ion of Seattle. The companies are working with researchers from either Washington State University or the University of Washington. The projects include manufacturing pest control products, developing diesel fuel processors, better armor, asphalt that hardens under traffic, disease control and miniature mass spectrometers.
