Spokane's Avista Corp. has been recognized for outstanding environmental stewardship on the Clark Fork River in Idaho and Montana. The National Hydropower Association named the company as an award winner in its annual Outstanding Stewardship of America's Rivers report. This is the fourth consecutive year that Avista has received the award recognizing its efforts to enhance natural and recreational resources in the lower Clark Fork River area. Avista operates the Cabinet Gorge and Noxon Rapids hydroelectric facilities on the river under a combined federal license called the Clark Fork Project
