The Tacoma Art Museum, which opened its new $22 million building May 3, announced it has exceeded projections for both attendance and revenues in the first month. The museum counted 17,683 people who came to the opening exhibitions and said admission revenues were 132 percent of its projections. In the first month of operations, the museum store took in $92,000, more than the $84,000 in revenues for the entire year of 2002.
