Army Corps of Engineers

The Portland District, Army Corps of Engineers has leased Crow Butte Park on the Columbia River, 13 miles west of Paterson, Wash., to the Crow Butte Park Assoc. The association was formed as a nonprofit to re-open and maintain the park through employees and volunteers. The park was closed as budget cutting measure in 2002 by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission. The state terminated its lease in April. Crow Butte Park is located along the Lewis and Clark Trail.
