Washington Research Foundation

Seattle-based Washington Research Foundation will donate $5 million to the University of Washington in a new matching program. As part of the program, the W. Hunter and Dorothy L. Simpson Endowed Chair in Bioengineering will receive $500,000 from the foundation and $500,000 from the university's local funds. This is the first of a series of programs that aim to raise $120 million in endowments for chairs, professorships, fellowships and scholarships.
