F5 Networks

Seattle-based technology company F5 Networks formed a new security business unit for marketing, research and development. Jeff Pancottine will lead as general manager. Dan Matte was promoted to senior vice president of marketing.

F5 acquired MagniFire WebSystems, a company that works on firewalls for the Web. F5 will continue to operate MagniFire's development facility in Tel Aviv.
