Seattle-based ZymoGenetics named Douglas E. Williams chief scientific officer and executive vice president to work on research and development. Williams was chief technical officer of Immunex Corp., and most recently chief scientific officer of research and development at Bothell-based Seattle Genetics. Frank Collins is retiring as chief scientific officer. ZymoGenetics is a biopharmaceutical company that works on therapeutic proteins for prevention or treatment of human diseases.
