National Legal Aid & Defender Association

The Native American section of the National Legal Aid & Defender Association recognized John Sledd for his contributions to advancing Native American rights. Sledd is a senior lawyer in the Native American unit of Northwest Justice Project and has 22 years of experience serving Indian Country and low-income tribal members. He led a successful effort to include testing of Indian law knowledge on the state bar exam.
