Heidi Wills, a member of the board of directors of The First Tee of Greater Seattle, was named executive director of the local chapter of the international nonprofit outreach program. Wills will oversee fundraising and development, and manage fiscal and program operations. Wills served four years on the Seattle city council and was also a senior aide to King County Executive Ron Sims.
The First Tee is an outreach program of the international nonprofit World Golf Foundation. Its goal is to provid educational programs for young people to promote values through golf. First Tee has programs in 39 states and four countries. The Seattle chapter served more than 500 local youngsters this year and expects to work with three times as many next year.
