J. Michael Davis was named associate director for Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory energy science and technology directorate. Davis will oversee energy sector projects. Davis has 30 years of experience and was chief executive officer of Spokane companies ReliOn, formerly Avista Labs, and was the Department of Energy's assistant secretary for conservation and renewable energy. Davis replaces Mike Lawrence, who will focus on planning the lab's research campus, a task that includes relocating part of the facility for accelerated cleanup at Hanford. The lab is managed by Ohio-based Battelle since the lab's inception in 1965.
