HomeStreet Bank announced the eight recipients of the HomeStreet Community Housing Awards, a program that supports nonprofit organizations that work to meet housing-related needs in Washington, Oregon and Hawaii. The winners in the Puget Sound region were Abused Deaf Women's Advocacy Services, which addresses the needs of deaf, deaf-blind and hard-of-hearing victims of domestic violence; the Helping Hand House, which works to prevent and end homelessness in Pierce County; Homestead Community Land Trust, which helps low- to moderate-income families purchase homes; and the Springboard Alliance which helps homeless individuals and families attain long-term self-sufficiency. HomeStreet Bank is a Seattle-based private bank.
