Pierce County

Deputy State Auditor Kevin Phelps will leave Olympia to join Pierce County as deputy Pierce County executive beginning Jan. 26. He will be a member of County Executive Pat McCarthy's administrative team of executive directors. Phelps served on the Tacoma City Council from 1998 to 2005 and recently owned and operated the Landmark Convention Center in Tacoma. He sold the center in August of 2008.
