Dave Ramsay said he plans to retire after 36 years of public service, including 12 years as Kirkland city manager. He will retire effective March 31, 2010. Ramsay said he wants to pursue non-profit agency opportunities in areas such as walking, smart growth, land conservancy and human services. He was president of the Washington City/County Management Association, and is on the Municipal Research and Services Center Board, Committee to End Homelessness in King County and Feet First. He was city manager for Glendale, Calif.
