King County

King County Executive Dow Constantine appointed Ken Nakatsu director of the Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention. Nakatsu managed the Flood Preparedness Unit in the Facilities Management Division for the past six months and previously served as chief of departmental operations for the Seattle Mayor's Office. He replaces Kathleen Van Olst who is returning to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, where she will work on elder abuse, neglect and economic fraud.
