City of Kirkland

The Kirkland City Council has hired Kurt Triplett as city manager.He will begin on June 28 and will be paid $174,000 per year, subject to a 3.4 percent temporary salary reduction now in effect. The contract expires in 2015. Triplett served as King County's interim county executive in 2009, chief of staff to County Executive Ron Sims from 2003 to 2009, deputy director of the county's Department of Natural Resources and Parks, and deputy chief of staff under Ron Sims and Gary Locke.
