Seattle Humane Society
The Seattle Humane Society appointed David Loewe, current chief operating officer, to interim executive director. He joined the society in 2006 after serving as a volunteer. A national search is underway to replace CEO Brenda Barnette, who has been appointed head of the Los Angeles Department of Animal Services. The society placed 6,091 animals in 2009.
