The Washington Tourism Alliance named Suzanne Fletcher as its first executive director, and also named its inaugural board of directors. Fletcher is a 30-year tourism industry veteran who was named one of the 25 Most Influential Women in the Travel Industry in 2008 by Forbes. She worked for Concur Technologies in Redmond where she was Europe, Middle East and Africa director of industry relations, based in Prague. The board has 20 members including Jane Kilburn of the Port of Seattle and Andy Olsen of Columbia Hospitality. The WTA was formed due to the closure of the state tourism office. WTA is now the state's official tourism marketing organization.
