Southern Wine & Spirits of America, a wine and spirits distributor with operations in 35 markets, said it will acquire the balance of Odom Corp.'s share in the companies' wine and spirits joint venture as a result of the state privatizing liquor distribution and retailing. Southern's Pacific Northwest headquarters will be in Kirkland. Odom will remain in Bellevue, and focus on beer and non-alcoholic beverages in the Northwest and Alaska. Southern's primary distribution center in this state will be its 350,000-square-foot facility in Puyallup that was acquired last year. It will start operating March 1. John Klein will be executive vice president and general manager.
