Symetra Financial Corp. of Bellevue named Mark E. Hunt executive vice president and chief investment officer. He will oversee a $30 billion investment portfolio and report to Tom Marra, president and CEO. Hunt was managing director of White Mountains Advisors in Guilford, Connecticut, responsible for all life company portfolios and alternative investments for clients including Symetra. His 11-person team at White Mountains is moving in-house to Symetra but will remain based in Connecticut. The team includes Nicholas Mocciolo, now Symetra vice president for derivatives, trading and portfolio strategy.
