Theodor “Ted” Baseler, president and CEO of Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, has been named the 77th Seattle-King County First Citizen for his role in advancing the state's wine industry internationally, and for being an advocate for higher education and the needs of underserved students. The award is given by Seattle KingCounty Realtors. Baseler joined Ste. Michelle in 1984 as director of marketing and was named president and CEO in 2001. The state has more than 850 wineries and a wine industry valued at more than $10 billion.
