Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes has appointed Kelly L. Harris as the new criminal division chief, succeeding Craig Sims, who left CAO in December for private practice. Harris is a 22-year prosecutor, starting in 1994 as a deputy prosecuting attorney in King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. In 2002, he joined the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington and in 2009 joined the U.S. Department of Justice's National Security Division as a trial attorney in the counterterrorism section. He starts March 9.
