Nurse Mary's Clinic

A $35,000 gift from Amerigroup Washington has allowed the Downtown Emergency Service Center to renovate space and provide health care to adults experiencing homelessness, focusing on people with mental illness and substance use disorders. Daryl Edmonds of Amerigroup said this will reduce the number of visits to emergency rooms. Garneau‐Nicon Foundation and Foster Foundation also contributed to the project. The clinic will be named Nurse Mary's Clinic in honor of nurse Mary Pilgrim's years of service to the shelter.
