Zymergen, a molecular technology company based in Emeryville, California, is expanding in Seattle with a new office at 1624 Fourth Ave. Zymergen has employed a small team here since late 2015, and plans to continue hiring here. It was founded four years ago and now has more than 350 employees in two offices. The 4,770-square-foot Seattle office has six employees, with space for another 30. The firm said it focuses on improving the performance of materials and discovering new molecular products for everything from agriculture to pharmaceuticals.
