Brenda Bauer was named deputy COO at King County Executive's Office, and will become interim director of the county's Department of Adult & Juvenile Detention when current director William Hayes retires at the end of the month. Bauer was director of the Road Services Division at King County Department of Transportation. Before that, she was city manager for Bainbridge Island and director of Seattle's Fleets and Facilities Department.
