Here are the winners of the 2019 City of Destiny Awards, which honor volunteers and service providers in Tacoma: Michelle McLean (Adult Leadership); Adam Maxon (Youth Leadership); Frank and Annette Bannon (Lifetime Service); Victoria Le (Youth Service); Amber Shirk-Imao (Economic Development); Pierce County Medical Reserve Corps (Group); Brendan Nelson (Equity and Empowerment); Mary Hart-Furman (Disability Advocate); Scott Murdock (Environmental Sustainability); Jacob Fuqua (Education & Youth Development — Youth); Sue Little (Education & Youth Development — Adult); and Tacoma Pierce County Coalition to End Homelessness and Tacoma New Life Presbyterian Church (Homeless Advocacy). An awards event will be held June 14 at STAR Center, 3873 S. 66th St., Tacoma.
