Michele Matassa Flores is the new executive editor at The Seattle Times. Matassa Flores joined the paper in 1988 as a reporter and moved into various editing positions. She left in 2008 for leadership roles at Crosscut and Puget Sound Business Journal. She returned to the Times in 2013 and has been managing editor since 2016. She replaces Don Shelton, who is retiring in May after 32 years with the paper.
