Bellevue-based Symetra Life Insurance Co. and the Seattle Seahawks honored two teachers at Parkwood Elementary School in Shoreline. Carla Salmon, a kindergarten teacher, and Renee Iverson, a third grade teacher, received Heroes in the Classroom awards. Both received $2,000 for classroom supplies and two tickets to the Seattle Seahawks' opening game on Sunday. The program will honor 16 local K–12 teachers during the 2019 NFL season.
