FEMA Region 10 recently held its inaugural Youth Preparedness Camp in Stanwood, Snohomish County. The weeklong event, staffed by camp and emergency management professionals, taught 40 students how to assist in the immediate aftermath of a disaster when a professional response may be delayed or limited. The students, in grades 8-12, came from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.
