King County Search and Rescue

King County Executive Dow Constantine selected King County Search and Rescue for the Executive's Award for Community Resilience, citing KCSAR for its exemplary service during February's snow emergency, in which the nonprofit's members volunteered nearly 1,000 hours and drove more than 7,800 miles in personally owned vehicles. KCSAR is an independent, nonprofit group of more than 600 trained volunteers that partners with the King County Sheriff's Office during emergencies.
