The Tacoma City Council is seeking applications for 11 positions on the Tacoma Creates Advisory Board, which will advise on funding programs to support public arts, culture, heritage and science programs. Five openings are for community members — one from each of the five council districts. The other six openings are for those with professional expertise from each of these fields: arts, culture, heritage, science, K-12 education and community engagement/development. A 12th board member will come from the mayor's Youth Commission. Applications are due by Jan. 26. More information is at http://www.cityoftacoma.org/cbcapplication.
