F5 Networks

Seattle-based F5 Networks will pay $1 billion in cash for privately held Shape Security of Santa Clara, California. Shape protects banks, airlines, retailers and government agencies against fraud — including “credential stuffing attacks,” where cybercriminals use stolen passwords from third-party data breaches to take over other online accounts. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of this year.
