Seattle Public Schools Superintendent Denise Juneau announced two new cabinet-level leadership appointments. Keisha Scarlett has been named chief academic officer and will oversee the district's Teaching and Learning Division. Dr. Scarlett is currently the SPS chief of equity, partnerships, and engagement. She is replacing Diane DeBacker, who is leaving to return to her home state of Kansas. James Bush has been named the district's new chief of equity, partnerships, and engagement, replacing Dr. Scarlett. Bush is currently the SPS executive director of school and community partnerships.
