YouthCare has announced a gift of $150,000 from KeyBank to support its Workforce Development programming, which is designed to support young people, ages 16 to 24, in the Seattle-King County area, who are unstably-housed or experiencing homelessness. YouthCare's workforce development programs allow these young people to create their own pathways toward long-term self-sufficiency by developing the skills they need to successfully enter the workforce and sustain a living wage. YouthCare's workforce development programs provide youth participants with individualized case management; access to supportive services that mitigate the challenges of homelessness; financial incentives; classroom curriculum combined with applied and hands-on experience; internship and employment connections with industry partners; and post-program assistance. The KeyBank Foundation has long engaged in philanthropic endeavors that support economic access and equity for underserved communities and populations. Founded in 1974, YouthCare has expanded to 15 sites serving more than 1,500 youth every year.
