Portland-based Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) announced that Cristi Dayton has been promoted to second vice president of retirement plans strategy and business improvement. In her new role, Dayton is responsible for the business improvement functions in retirement plans including project management, systems support and learning and development. Dayton joined The Standard in 1991, beginning her 30-year career in employee benefits as a premium processor. She also held positions as a disability claims analyst, national accounts claims consultant and later a leadership role in long term disability claims. Dayton then shifted her focus to technology and project management as senior director of information technology solutions and later as leader of the retirement plans program management office. The Standard also announced that Doug Stearns has been promoted to second vice president of application and solution delivery strategic partner management. Stearns will lead management of The Standard's strategic information technology partners who provide application life-cycle management of business-critical systems and deliver solutions for portfolio initiatives. Stearns joined The Standard in 1993 and has held various leadership roles with responsibility for IT infrastructure, solutions and engineering as well as operations. Most recently, he was senior director of IT application solutions delivery.
