Everett-based Compass Health welcomed Dr. Kathryn Gilligan, who joins the community behavioral health organization as chief medical officer. In her role as CMO, Gilligan works with clients, staff and community partners to support equitable access to care, integrate services and expand programs for people experiencing mental health and substance abuse needs. Gilligan joins Compass Health after serving as the medical director of behavioral health at Providence Medical Group in Everett and has over ten years of experience as an inpatient and outpatient psychiatrist. For five years, she taught at the Washington State University College of Medicine, where she was the direct supervisor of 3rd and 4th year medical students. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Ohio State University and received her bachelor's degree in fine arts from the University of Cincinnati. Compass Health is a community-based healthcare agency, offering comprehensive mental health treatment, crisis prevention and intervention, supportive housing, children's services and community education. The non-profit organization serves people of all ages throughout Snohomish, Skagit, Island, San Juan, and Whatcom counties.
