SEATTLE — Sound Transit on Thursday said it will use buses to augment light rail when Lynnwood Link opens this fall. The agency also will increase storage capacity for trains in an effort to mitigate anticipated crowding when the line opens.
Sound Transit said additional train storage, for up to 36 vehicles, will allow for more frequent service during peak hours by using “gap trains” stored at various sites along the 1 Line.
