The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) added David Perez and Jennifer Roberts to its board of trustees. They join a group responsible for guiding the museum's strategic direction and providing oversight in collaboration with Scott Stulen, SAM's Illsley Ball Nordstrom director and CEO, and the museum's senior leadership. In addition, SAM's board appointed new leadership earlier this year. Catherine Roche has served on the board since 2013 and was elected president in January, and Scott Morris was elected chair in September. Perez is a trial lawyer at Perkins Coie who also maintains an active pro bono practice, supporting organizations like the American Civil Liberties Union, the League of Women Voters, and the Ballard Food Bank. Roberts has been a proprietor of a small working farm and event space on Vashon Island for over a decade. In addition to her new appointment at SAM, she has served as a trustee for the Henry Art Gallery, On the Boards, and Holy Names Academy.
