$1.2B available to fund high-speed internet access

OLYMPIA — The Washington State Broadband Office opened an application period Tuesday for $1.2 billion in federal Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) funding, aimed at bringing high-speed internet to communities lacking access.

The first 60-day round of applications closes in January, and further application rounds may follow.
