WASWD

The Board of Directors of the Washington Association of Sewer & Water Districts (WASWD) appointed Clark Halvorson as its new executive director. Halvorson's experience in the industry encompassed several key roles at the Washington state Department of Health, including the Southwest Regional Operations deputy director, the Office of Drinking Water director, and assistant secretary overseeing the Environmental Health Division. He began his career with the Nisqually Tribe as their water resource manager and later served as water resource director for the city of Olympia. More recently, Halvorson served as the president/CEO of United Way of Alaska, and executive director for Outdoors for All Foundation. Halvorson will begin his role on Jan. 8. Current Executive Director Judi Gladstone will continue part-time as an advisor during his first three months to ensure a smooth transition. The WASWD exists to provide education, advocacy and collaboration opportunities for water and sewer special purpose districts located around the state.
