Peter Kwon, City of SeaTac councilmember, has been appointed as board liaison for the Asian Pacific American Municipal Officials (APAMO) Constituency Group. One of National League of Cities (NLC) six constituency groups, Asian Pacific American Municipal Officials brings together Asian Pacific American municipal leaders to share best practices. Established within NLC in 1985, Asian Pacific American Municipal Officials is a caucus within NLC that provides municipal officials who identify and ally with the Asian Pacific American to connect with their colleagues in a forum to share ideas and develop leadership experience. Kwon served two terms as president of APAMO and is currently serving as the immediate past president. He was also elected to the NLC Board of Directors in November 2024 for a two-year term that began in January of this year.
