Coal Creek sewer project wins salmon-safe certification

The aging sewer pipeline that criss-crosses under salmon-bearing Coal Creek will be decommissioned and mostly left in place, though portions will be removed and the surrounding areas restored.

A major upgrade planned for aging sewer pipe on the Eastside just won King County the nation's first ever Salmon-safe certification for a wastewater infrastructure project.
