Fred Meyer store in Tacoma closing

TACOMA — A Fred Meyer store in Tacoma's South End is set to close at the end of September.

The state's Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) layoff and closure database is reporting the layoff of 226 Fred Meyer employees in Tacoma as of Sept. 27 due to a permanent store closure.
