The grants target active transportation routes such as sidewalks, protected bike lanes and crossings in neighborhoods severed by state highways.

Building shared-use connections along state Route 900 at Martin Luther King Jr. Way South in Skyway. Improving access around new Interstate 90 ramps in Judkins Park. Constructing missing links along the Interurban Trail in Lynnwood. These active transportation projects all received funding from past cycles of the Sandy Williams Connecting Communities Program — and the state is seeking suggestions for the fourth round.
