Trump approves FEMA help for state

OLYMPIA — On Friday, Gov. Bob Ferguson announced that he'd received a phone call from Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, informing him that President Donald Trump had signed his request for an emergency declaration amid extreme flooding in the state.

Torrential rains that began last week have caused historic floods throughout Western Washington, washing out roadways and causing several communities to be evacuated.
