Gov. Ferguson wants $244M more for housing

    Gov. Ferguson announced proposals to spur affordable housing and create a new Department of Housing last week at the Beacon Pacific Village apartments in Beacon Hill.

    Less than a month out from the 2026 legislative session, Governor Bob Ferguson announced Thursday plans to ask lawmakers to approve an additional $244 million in housing investments, as he signed an executive order to start work creating a cabinet-level housing agency.
