State to get $181M for rural health care

OLYMPIA — Gov. Bob Ferguson announced Dec. 31 that the state will receive $181 million in federal funding from the Rural Health Transformation Program for the 2026 fiscal year.

The federal program provides $10 billion a year over the next five years supporting rural hospital infrastructure, with an emphasis on technology improvements, chronic disease management, behavioral health care, maternal health care, addressing workforce shortages and increasing access to emergency services.
