Construction material costs climbed in January as input prices rose for both overall and nonresidential construction categories, according to new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics analyzed by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).
Overall construction input prices increased 0.7% from December, while nonresidential construction input prices rose 0.6% over the same period. On a year-over-year basis, prices are up 2.3% for all construction inputs and 2.9% for nonresidential inputs.
