New time-of-use power rate coming

SEATTLE — Seattle City Light will begin offering new electricity time-of-use (TOU) rates to residential customers starting in May.

With a TOU rate, SCL says that when customers use electricity matters. Electricity would cost the most during peak hours, from 5-9 p.m., and the least during off-peak hours, from midnight to 6 a.m.
