State jobless rate up slightly to 5.2%

OLYMPIA — Unemployment in Washington state rose a bit in April, up to 5.2% from 5.1% in March.

The state Employment Security Department reported its figures yesterday. The department says the state's economy lost about 4,500 jobs (seasonally adjusted) in April, adding that there have been four consecutive months of job losses this year.
